Job Description of Railways RRB Ticket Collector
Railway Ticket Examiner is one amongst the front line staff of Indian Railways coming in direct contact with passengers.
The key responsibilities of a Ticket collector include,
- a) In charge of reserved coaches
- b) Being a guidance to passengers
- c) Checking tickets in reserved or unreserved coaches or at the station platform
- d) Manning (being in charge) of the inquiry counter at Railway station.
- e) Any other task as prescribed by the higher officials during the course of duty.
RRB Ticket Collector 2024 Selection Process
Candidate’s selection is done on the basis of these tests. Candidates must clear all these tests in order to be a part of Railway jobs. Applicants must first take up the Online Examination held. Distance Vision should be 6/6, 6/6 without glasses.
Near Vision: 0.6,0.6 without glasses (also must clear fogging test) and must pass the test for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision and Night Vision. After the above tests, the railway TC recruitment process will be over with certificate verifications and personal interviews.

Candidates joining Indian railways as a TC will currently earn approximately Rs. 27000/- per month. As the Government is going to initiate the 7th CPC very soon, Ticket collectors will definitely start earning a salary of approximately Rs. 36000/- per month.
